Eliminate Area Monitoring Challenges
Protect your entire worksite with the Radius BZ1 area monitor. It can be deployed in seconds and left in the field for up to 50 days on a single charge, depending on configuration, or for an unlimited period with different external power supply options.
Get the flexibility you need from one device.
With SafeCore sensors, you can detect up to seven gases simultaneously, including IR and PID, and swap sensors as needed for your application.
Gain real-time visibility and respond faster in an emergency by sharing gas readings locally through relay control and Modbus or remotely through iNet Now Live Monitoring.
Cut through high-noise environments with alarms that sound at 105 dB and customizable action messages such as "EVACUATE" or "VENTILATE.”
Get to work faster with drop-and-go setup and a more rugged case design including an all-weather base.
Show gas readings from nearby monitors so you know what's happening across your site and to your peers.
Gain visibility from a distance with a large, easy-to-read screen.
Never miss an alarm thanks to bold, bright LED lights.
Create a Dynamic Safety Network
Radius BZ1 shares gas readings and alarms with other units and personal gas monitors through LENS® Wireless, so you can create a flexible safety network across your operations.
- Detect Up to 7 Gases
With Radius BZ1, you can detect up to seven gases simultaneously using 22 sensor options, including infrared (IR) and photoionization detectors (PID). - Increase Worker Safety
DualSense® Technology uses two sensors to detect the same gas, bolstering your safety efforts. - Get Unlimited Run Time
Minimize the cost of labor and risks of charging and rotating equipment in hazardous locations using different external power supply options, which can provide unlimited run time. - Customize Alarm Messages
Know what’s happening at a distance with the largest display of any area monitor and customizable alarm action messages, such as "EVACUATE" or "VENTILATE." - Command Attention
Cut right through high-noise environments with alarms that sound at 105 dB, plus bold LED lights.

If we would have worked with fire watch attendants versus the Radius BZ1 area monitors for this project, it would have cost the customer at least double and required more work permits. What immediately drove us to choose the Radius BZ1 was the battery life. We knew that we would be able to let every monitor run for seven or eight days, instead of having to send out 10 people per shift per day to change out batteries, like another manufacturer’s instruments that we used in the past. With Radius BZ1, we never missed a beat!

How can I use an Area Monitor?
Area monitors are a highly flexible solution because they can be placed in temporary or long-term configurations based on your specific hazards. With the addition of LENS™ Wireless, networks are created right out of the box and provide visibility into gas hazards in any location.
- Perimeter Monitoring: Set up monitors around a tank, hot work, or other known hazardous area to continuously monitor for gas leaks.
- Fence Line Monitoring: Create a barrier between a safe zone and hazardous work area. Use the hopping capability of LENS Wireless to know what is happening up to 1.5 kilometers away.
- Confined Space Monitoring: Know what’s happening in a confined space by using the pumped SafeCore Module and tubing to draw air samples to the monitor.
What sensors does Radius BZ1 support?
Radius BZ1 can detect up to seven gases at once. Select from 22 sensors including:
Ammonia (NH3), carbon monoxide (CO), carbon monoxide (CO/H2 low), carbon monoxide/hydrogen sulfide (COSH), chlorine (Cl2), hydrogen (H2), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), hydrogen cyanide (HCN), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), oxygen (O2), sulfur dioxide (SO2), phosphine (PH3), nitric oxide (NO), photoionization detectors (PID),
Chlorine Dioxide (ClO2), Hydrogen Chloride (HCl), Hydrocarbon IR (Propane), Methane IR (CH4), infrared (IR), and more
What is the Radius BZ1’s runtime?
The Radius BZ1 features a runtime of up to 50 days, depending on configuration, or for an unlimited period based on different external power supply options.
How will I be alerted if a gas hazard is present?
Loud audible alarms and different colored strobes for gas and non-gas events ensure workers not only know when the monitor is alarming, but why. These alarms cut through high-noise environments with sounds at 105 dB and a display that is three times larger than competitors’ screens. You can also customize alarm action messages to appear on screen during emergencies, such as “EVACUATE” or “VENTILATE.”
How do you deploy the monitor?
Whether setting up a perimeter or monitoring leaks and confined spaces, the Radius BZ1 allows for flexible deployments to create buffers between workers and gas hazards.
- Communicate gas hazards during emergency response, long-term projects, or while performing routine worksite maintenance by adding area monitors wherever they are needed.
- Deploy monitors for temporary work without worrying about battery life. The Radius BZ1 boasts up to 50 days of battery life, depending on configuration, and the option to extend runtime of certain configurations using the external power supply or indefinitely using the Solar Power Supply.
- Accurately detect gases regardless of environmental conditions and avoid false alarms thanks to the 360-degree gas path and all-weather sensor deployment.
Does the Radius BZ1 communicate with other devices?
Yes, it integrates with other gas monitors through LENS Wireless. With this connectivity, you can create wireless networks out of the box, with no set up or extra equipment required.
Receive alarms and real-time gas readings from any other monitor on the network with long-range communication—up to 300 meters (1,000 feet)—between units. You can also see gas readings and alarms from Ventis® Pro5 personal monitors that have joined the wireless group.
The Radius BZ1 is also compatible with SAFER One Dynamic Plume Modeling Software, so you can identify where a leak is coming from and where it is going.
Can you use an area monitor in a remote or hazardous location?
Yes, you can.
Remote locations rarely offer easy access to electrical power. And if the location is far away, you won’t want to send workers out every few hours or days to charge batteries—that’s a waste of valuable time for all involved.
Using the Radius BZ1 with our Solar Power Supply eliminates three critical area monitoring challenges: runtime, hazard certifications, and portability. Solar panels provide unlimited runtime for up to two Radius BZ1 Area Monitors, RGX Gateways, or a combination of the two, while a CSA Class 1 Div 2 certification ensures safety in even the most hazardous locations. A portable, modular design allows a single worker to transport and assemble the Solar Power Supply.
By addressing these common challenges, you can eliminate the costs and hazards associated with charging and rotating devices in the field.
